Bump Update

This baby is growing!!

Baby boy has a name! Brady will be making his debut in March! I do have to say this pregnancy has been a breeze. I have not had any nausea, any morning sickness, no headaches, nothing! I am truly blessed to have it this easy so far. We had our 20 week check up today. Everything is right on track! One little thing my doctor wants to watch is my weight, so far I am only up 5 pounds, apparently I should be at around 10-15. I have been eating like crazy so I thought for sure the scale would jump up a few notches but I guess I was wrong. Lucky for me though, this means I get to see my little man in two more ultra sounds instead of the one growth ultra sound towards the end.

Have a great week!

Where I've Been

Whew! Where has time gone. I feel that it has been a century since I've been on this blog of mine. Let's do a little update.

1. Teaching 6th grade math for the 3rd year. We have new curriculum so I am reworking and reworking lessons and units to fit my style of teaching. I am not a note and practice teacher. I like to play games, have centers and different projects for the students to work on. However with this new book, I am struggling! It is very straight forward and if we don't follow its pacing guide, there's no way I'm going to cover everything I need too.

2. New house is slowly getting decorated. I have been busy shopping at Homegood, Hobby Lobby and several local boutiques gathering things for my house. I snagged this mirror that is awesome for my dining room.

However the biggest news is! Baby boy is coming in March!

We are so excited to welcome this baby! I am currently 20 weeks and feeling great. Come back tomorrow for a bump update.

Life Lately

Tomorrow is July 1st. Tomorrow starts the unending fun of summer. BBQs, fireworks, bonfires, Disney, beaches, boating and fun in the sun. July also marks 2 months being in my new house. It still is a blank slate, I want to take my time and really make the house ours. Here's a peek at our home!

As soon as you walk into my house you have the stairs on the left and a sitting room on the right.

Here is our sitting room that leads into a dining room. I am still considering paint colors.

This is the first room we painted in the house. Its a medium gray, called Nantucket Mist.

The kitchen from the family room.

I am pouring through Pinterest gathering little ideas to make this house our home. I have learned that I tend to like neutrals with pops of color. One of the first things on my major make over list are my cabinets. They are very old for the my taste.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

a day in the life

I've always loved hearing what other people do in a typical day. I makes the person behind the blog seem more real and not everything is shopping, and styling your home. So today I am linking up with Brittany @ Happy is a Choice and Rachel @ Rachel Rewritten for my very first day in the life link up!

Since school is out for the summer, my day has changed a bit. So this is my summer edition.

My day normally starts between 9-10 am.  I've quickly switched from going to bed at 9:30 to staying up past midnight. So I take advantage of being able to sleep in. I crawl out of bed, careful to not wake the hubby, (who just got in from work most nights), and come downstairs from a cup of coffee, the Today show and blog reading and Pinterest.

After the Today Show, I pick up around the house and unpack a little more. We have officially been in the house for 3 weeks! Unpacking is a slow and tedious process, it doesn't help that we are still painting and furnishing the rest of the house.

I try to stay quiet or run errands so it is quiet for hubby to get his sleep. If he doesn't work that night, he is normally up by 3. So it is the perfect amount of time for me to run errands so when he wakes up we can spend time together.  (hubby is an ER nurse, well now they call it the ED)

I am lucky enough to have a Target, HomeGoods, and Marshalls 5 minutes down the road. Some days I'll make a trip there to pick up things that we need  I think we need ;).

4pm- Once Hubby is up, we get ready to go to the gym together.

Dinner time! I absolutely love to cook and try new recipes. I rarely cook the same thing in a 2 week span unless its one of our favorites. Tonight I am making Taco Stuffed Zucchinis. This is one of the recipes that I tend to make weekly. So Good!!

Right now my day is pretty lax! I love to meet new people! Stop by and stay awhile. Leave a comment so I can stop by and visit you as well!

Obsessed

Lately I have been trying new things. With school out I've had a lot of time to sit, relax and do whatever I please. I've read 3 books in just short of 3 weeks, made countless new recipes and scoured pinterest for decor ideas for my blank walls. I told Ryan that I could get use to staying home :).

Here are a few things I've been obsessed with lately:

1. Reading. I can't get enough! I love waking up, making coffee and curling up on my couch or deck to read. I've read the following so far. Would love suggestions!

 2. Bacon in the oven. Try it! Life changing.

3. Iced coffee. Now with warmer weather finally here in the mitten, I'd prefer iced coffee. I make it sometimes in the keurig but I have been loving the International house Iced Coffee.

4. We have been married for a year now! I love my loving, hard working, man :)

 5. 20 days until I am 'home' again. 15 days in Disney! Yay!!

life lately

Whoa! Where has time gone?! So many things has happened since I've been on this little blog.

We:

*celebrated our 1 year anniversary on May 24
*purchased our first home
*moved in on our anniversary
*I started grad school, and hubby started his BSN for the possibility of med school
*survived my 2nd year in 6th grade
*booked flights for our Disney Vacation next month

We are busy unpacking, decorating and starting our to do remodel list. The home is a blank slate right now so we can do whatever we please which I'm so excited to do.

Stay tuned for a home tour!

Freezed In

Alright Elsa, you can go home now.

It has been well below zero for several days now. I have taught a total of 12 days for the month of January.  While I love having "snow days", I am starting to get restless sitting at home.  I have been making a ton of different recipes to try. So far my favorites have been, mongolian beef, lasagna, and kung pao chicken. I love trying new recipes. What are your favorites?
